Long distance relationships can be challenging, especially when you can’t see–or hear–your significant other. Due to her personal experience with a long distance lover, Joanna Montgomery, a recent college graduate from Scotland, has designed a product to keep you and your love connected through the night. Pillow Talk allows for an intimate connection via a ring that wirelessly transmits your pulse to your significant other through a pillow insert. When each person goes to bed, their pillow will softly glow to indicate their partner’s presence. Joanna first created Pillow Talk as her final college project, but now she is putting on the final touches for it to hit the market this summer. Of the creation, she says:
I realized that technology has become very literal, everything involves a screen. You can Facebook someone, or text them, or email them, but it’s quite two dimensional and there isn’t any real richness or depth behind it.
